Prevention Legislative Forum next Tuesday
Our virtual Legislative Forum is coming up! Members of local prevention coalitions are invited to join for a conversation with our state delegates around smoke shops and other issues where the state can help protect our youth. We will focus on:
illicit sales at smoke shops
referrals for underage THC violations
importance of THC potency caps
addressing siloes in substance regulation and enforcement
Job Opportunities
Positive Directions is sad to announce the departure of our LADC, Karlene Barnett, who has been providing substance counseling in the Norwalk high schools through a contract with NPS. Please share the job posting with counselors who may be interested! The job is flexible -- 2 days minimum, based in the schools, with an option for additional clinical days. Spanish bilingual highly preferred! Positive Directions is also hiring for a part-time Cannabis Prevention Project Manager to work with our local suburbs.
Upcoming Teen Nights Out
80 kids had a blast at last week's Bowling Teen Night Out, and we already have almost 120 high school students signed up for our Ice Skating Night over the winter break! We can only accept a few more, so sign up now...!
All Teen Nights Out are planned by teens & community members involved with TNP and funded by a grant from the City. Events are open to high school students from Norwalk and high schoolers who go to school in Norwalk.
Our January TNO is a dance at Factory Underground. We have had to change the date to SATURDAY, JANUARY 11th, from 7pm-10pm, so if you previously signed up based on an email or social post, please note the new day!
Dress up or dress down -- but wear winter whites or blues. DJ, food... it's going to be a blast!
All Teen Nights Out are planned by teens & community members involved with TNP and funded by a grant from the City. Events are open to high school students from Norwalk as well as high schoolers who attend school in Norwalk (such as CGS students).
