September is National Recovery Month--a great time to reflect on the saying that "prevention works, treatment is effective, and recovery is possible!" The Norwalk Partnership invites Norwalkers to join us for the local events we're sponsoring in honor of recovery month. We're also sharing two regional events below.
Overdose Response Event
Tomorrow (September 14), TNP will be providing free Narcan kits and training, on a drop-in basis, between 3:30pm and 6pm at Eco Evolution, 135 Washington Street, South Norwalk. Stop in to learn the warning signs of an overdose and how to use life-saving Narcan. Free Narcan kits will be provided by The Hub while supplies last, and Positive Directions & CT Counseling Centers will be available to provide resources and discuss prevention, treatment, and recovery options related to opioid and other substance misuse.
Mobilize Recovery: Day of Service
The Norwalk Partnership and many of our member agencies are proud to co-sponsore a Mobilize Recovery Day of Service, open to all! Please plan to bring your friends and family and come together for a community clean-up project. What a great way to build relationships and make our community a better place!
Meet at 1 Moodys Lane, Norwalk, on September 30 from 10am-1pm for this special community event to close out recovery month.
Regional Recovery Events
A "Celebrate Recovery" event for Southwest CT, organized by DMHAS and The Hub, will take place in Bridgeport on September 21st from 6-8pm. The event will focus on celebrating conneCTion, with speakers, food and fun. RSVP here.
