In Gratitude
As we wrap up the calendar year, we are so thankful to all of you for your contributions to TNP's mission: to prevent substance misuse and promote mental wellness among Norwalk youth & young adults.
In the last fiscal year alone, 116 community members helped plan and implement our initiatives, from film screenings to wellness fairs, trainings to policy work, data collection to Teen Nights Out. We convened 75 meetings, reached 10,000 people directly, and reached 36,000 with awareness resources and materials.
We are proud to announce that earlier this month TNP received the 2024 Coalition of the Year award from the CT Association of Prevention Professionals! We truly couldn't have done it without you, and we are grateful for you this holiday season and always.
Holiday Supports
We also know that the holidays can be a tough time for many. Get helpful tips by scrolling through a couple of slides below presented by Jess Vivenzio of Family & Children's Agency at our November coalition meeting:
And please make sure your family and friends know that support is always available! The national and state crisis lines are FREE and open 24/7; the state's young adult warmline runs 12pm-9pm daily; and Kids in Crisis has a helpline and a respite right in our area. There are also many FREE supports run by peers -- people with lived experience who are trained to help in an emotional crisis. One of those options is RIPPLE, started right here in Norwalk, which runs free, online late-night support groups. For more information, click on the images in the gallery below to open our flyers.
Another free peer support option is Alternatives to Suicide, a support group offered at Positive Directions every Tuesday night. Please note that on December 24 and December 31, the Positive Directions group will be online instead of in person. (Scan the QR code on the flyer above to join the meeting.)
